My name is Leeony and welcome to Blue Skies Tomorrow.
Things don’t always go according to plan, and a new chapter gets written to our life story. We don’t always to write it ourselves, but we can to make changes to the story.
Blue Skies Tomorrow and Blue Skies Craft are sites that supports children and adults dealing with grief, loss and trauma. This can come in many different forms and affect people in many different ways.
Leeony has a Masters Degree in Counselling Practice and is an Affiliate Member (24194) with the Psychotherapist and Counsellor Federation of Australia, and has over 650 hours of face to face client counselling. Leeony has been counselling for over 10 years working with children, staff and families in primary school settings, as well as providing counselling support to individual clients.
Leeony holds a National Police Clearance, a Department for Communities and Social Inclusion Screening and First Aid Certificate.
Currently Leeony works counselling children and adults with a person centred approach using the therapeutical approaches from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, while using many proven techniques from psychology and other counselling modalities such as Narrative Therapy and Trauma Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TB-CBT).
With children, Play Therapy can include sand play, using miniature animals, drawing, painting, collage and construction, puppets, games, using stories, and imaginative pretend play. With a teaching background, Leeony relates well to children and has a good understanding of child development.
Leeony has delivered the Seasons for Growth program developed by Good Grief to many children in primary schools, and is a facilitator of Toolbox Parenting and What’s the Buzz? social skills program. Leeony has also worked as a teacher in a hospital school for 5 years with children with multiple disabilities and terminal illness.
Currently in 2019 she works part time as a school counsellor and provides counselling support for students, staff and families, while also providing private counselling to clients.
An important part of Leeony’s approach to counselling is to facilitate change by providing the client with current resources and information to assist them in making their own choices.

Why I do what I do:
Seeing children and their families grow and develop strategies to cope in difficult times while becoming more resilient has been a major highlight for me.
I have helped children and their families in the area of grief and loss. I developed Blue Skies Craft which provides art and craft activities and provides grief theory to use during play therapy.
Biblical and prayer counselling can be provided at your request.
The essence of Blue Skies Tomorrow is that whatever the circumstances, there is always hope.
You can recover. You can bounce back. There is always hope.
